Gonzalo Porta Band (Sydney)
Born in Australia, Gonzalo moved to his family´s homeland of Uruguay at a young age. His remarkable music ability established his career from the age of 13 and lead to massive success in Uruguay and throughout South America including Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil and Chile. His successes lead him to have number 1 hits with groups like Monterrojo, La 424, Karibitos con K, Zanatta y L´Autentica and to witness screaming fans chasing him down the street type of fame!
Gonzalo began singing and recording professionally at such a young age that he was affectionately known as Gonzalito (little Gonzalo) in the Uruguayan music scene, a name that has stuck to this day.
Due to his reputation, Gonzalo was also part of the Film “Aparte”, a remarkable film aimed at the Uruguayan population. With eight gold records to his name, this acclaimed international singer/songwriter returned to Australia in 2006 and was keen to continue his successful music career.
Gonzalo is currently promoting his second solo album “ SIN FRONTERAS”. The album contains nine tracks featuring “Solo Mia”, currently Top 25 on Billboard tropical charts. Awarded also with “Song of The Year” by Promomusic Bcn in Europe.

After the success of Chukale, the number one Latin salsa band in Brisbane, QLD, Gustavo Cereijo the director, decides to bring the newest rhythms of Cuban music TIMBA and SONGO to his audience. These music genres are characterized by their innovate, energetic upbeat Latin funk style, representing always the cadence of the traditional Cuban music where the only thing you want to do when you hear it is to dance and party!
To spread this fresh music style, Gustavo who studied in Cuba, has put together EL TIMBON a new 11-piece band formed by professional musicians who love Cuban music and want to help him to show more of this diverse and rich music!
